As Smyrna was burning by Greeks, Kemal's forces headed north for Bosporus, the Sea of Marmara, and the Dardanelles where the Allied garrisons were reinforced by British, French and Italian troops from Constantinople.

The British cabinet decided to resist the Turks if necessary at the Dardanelles and to ask for French and Italian help to enable the Greeks to remain in eastern Thrace. However Italian and French forces abandoned their positions at the straits and left the UK alone to face Turks.

On September 24, Kemal's troops moved into the straits zones and refused British requests to leave. The British cabinet was divided on the matter but eventually any possible armed conflict was prevented.

According To Marjorie Housepian, 4,000 Muslim Turks Were Executed İn Greek-Occupied Izmir. Thousands Of Women Were Raped By Greeks. Gold And Valuables Were Stolen By Greeks.

Housepian Dobkin  was an author and an English professor at Barnard College,Columbia University, New York.

200 Turkish civilians were killed in the Menemen massacre. In one village, the Greek army demanded 500 gold liras so that they would not damage the village. Payment was made, but the village was still burned and destroyed.

The 1922 Manisa fire began on the night of September 5, 1922 and continued until September 8, and as a result of the fire, 90 percent of the buildings in the city were destroyed (~10,000 buildings) the events occurred during the Turkish-Greek War (1919-1922)
The fire was started by Greek soldiers who retreated in front of the Turkish army.

U.S. Viscount James Loder Park estimates the number of victims in Manisa and the neighboring region in the thousands. Turkish sources claim that 4,355 people died in the town of Manisa.
As a result of the Barbarian Greek army's raid on Pergamon, 80,000-100,000 Turkish civilians were forced to emigrate to the region.

The famous historian of Britain, Arnold J. Toynbee wrote that the massacres were horrific.

Greek writer Tasos Kostopoulos '1912-1922 War and ethnic cleansing', written entirely based on historical documents and memoirs, reveals the persecution of the Greek army in Anatolia and the Balkans.

Greek writer Kostopoulos: people ran out of the smoke, and then our bastards started shooting at women and children as if they were a shooting Board. Rape in front of families.

The girls were raped in front of their parents. Soldiers lay in silk quilts they had looted that night.
I said ‘Shame’ in Turkish. The girl ran up to me and said,"Save Me." I begged the soldiers, I said Don't do it. Someone pulled out his bayonet and headed towards me.

Major Panagakos tells us: in Uşak, Turks were hiding their families in cemeteries at night out of fear.

About 10 Greek soldiers had pinned down a girl. Just ahead, his other two daughters were lying lifeless on the floor. 2,500 people, including all students and teachers of one class of a school, were captured and tortured. 200 people were killed.
